### sec.240 Interim orders
This section applies if a person appeals against an order transferring a child protection proceeding to a participating State.
If an interim order is in force under section 230 —
the interim order is not affected merely because of the appeal; but
the appellate court may—
stay the operation of the interim order; or
vary or revoke the interim order; or
extend the time for which the interim order has effect.
Also, the appellate court may make any interim order that could be made by the Childrens Court under section 230 .

(sec.240-ssec.1) This section applies if a person appeals against an order transferring a child protection proceeding to a participating State.
(sec.240-ssec.2) If an interim order is in force under section 230 — the interim order is not affected merely because of the appeal; but the appellate court may— stay the operation of the interim order; or vary or revoke the interim order; or extend the time for which the interim order has effect.
(sec.240-ssec.3) Also, the appellate court may make any interim order that could be made by the Childrens Court under section 230 .
- (a) the interim order is not affected merely because of the appeal; but
- (b) the appellate court may— (i) stay the operation of the interim order; or (ii) vary or revoke the interim order; or (iii) extend the time for which the interim order has effect.
