### sec.166 Offence to refuse contact with child in custody or guardianship
This section applies if an authorised officer reasonably asks a person for permission to enter a place for the purpose of having contact with a child at the place to ensure the child’s protection.
The person must not refuse the officer’s request unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
Maximum penalty—50 penalty units.
In this section—
child means a child in the chief executive’s custody or guardianship under an assessment order, temporary custody order or child protection order.
