### sec.159R Interaction with other laws This chapter does not limit a power or obligation under another Act or law to give information. This chapter applies to information despite any other law that would otherwise prohibit or restrict the giving of the information. Education (General Provisions) Act 2006 , section 426 Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 , section 142 (1) Youth Justice Act 1992 , section 288 Police Service Administration Act 1990 , section 10 0.1 Nothing in this chapter requires a person or entity to disclose information that is subject to privilege. A person may decide to withhold information, that would otherwise have to be disclosed under this chapter, because the information is subject to legal professional privilege. If information is subject to privilege, the privilege is not waived, or otherwise affected, merely because the information may be, or is, disclosed under this chapter.
