### sec.159O Release of information by a health services designated person
A health services designated person may, for this Act, give a relevant person or the Childrens Court confidential information if—
for a relevant person or the Childrens Court—the information is relevant to the protection or wellbeing of a child; or
for a relevant person who is the chief executive and without limiting paragraph (a) —the information is relevant to the chief executive’s review under chapter 7A .
Subsection (1) (a) includes the giving of information, before a child is born, that is relevant to the protection or wellbeing of the child after he or she is born.
This section does not limit a power or obligation under this chapter to give information.
In this section—
confidential information see the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 , schedule 2 .
designated person see the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 , schedule 2 .
health services designated person means a designated person.
relevant person means—
the chief executive; or
an authorised officer; or
a police officer.

(sec.159O-ssec.1) A health services designated person may, for this Act, give a relevant person or the Childrens Court confidential information if— for a relevant person or the Childrens Court—the information is relevant to the protection or wellbeing of a child; or for a relevant person who is the chief executive and without limiting paragraph (a) —the information is relevant to the chief executive’s review under chapter 7A .

- (a) for a relevant person or the Childrens Court—the information is relevant to the protection or wellbeing of a child; or
- (b) for a relevant person who is the chief executive and without limiting paragraph (a) —the information is relevant to the chief executive’s review under chapter 7A .
- (a) the chief executive; or
- (b) an authorised officer; or
- (c) a police officer.
