### sec.97 Tribunal may investigate as appropriate
Before making an order under this part a tribunal shall make a thorough investigation without regard to legal forms or solemnities.
A tribunal is not bound to apply the rules of evidence and, after informing itself in such manner as the tribunal thinks fit, may make an order under this part with or without any hearing and, where a hearing is held, whether or not it is conducted formally.
Notwithstanding subsection (2) , a tribunal shall conduct a hearing where any person entitled or required to appear before the tribunal on the hearing of the application or appeal so appears.
(sec.97-ssec.1) Before making an order under this part a tribunal shall make a thorough investigation without regard to legal forms or solemnities.
