### sec.179 Stay of operation of original decision
If an application is made for an internal review of an original decision, the applicant may immediately apply, as provided under the QCAT Act , to QCAT for a stay of the decision.
QCAT may stay the decision to secure the effectiveness of the review and any later review by QCAT.
The stay—
may be given on conditions QCAT considers appropriate; and
operates for the period fixed by QCAT; and
may be revoked or amended by QCAT.
The period of the stay must not extend past the time when the registrar makes a review decision about the original decision and any later period QCAT allows the applicant to enable the applicant to apply to QCAT for a review of the review decision.
The application affects the decision, or carrying out of the decision, only if the decision is stayed.
