### sec.258 Taking steps to obtain consent to disclosure
This section applies if a person’s consent is required under this division.
The chief executive must take steps to contact the person and ask if the person wishes to give the consent.
Subsection (2) does not apply to a person who the chief executive is aware does not wish to give the consent or to be contacted for the purpose of asking for the consent.
