### sec.106 Scope of assessment—persons selected to meet needs of particular child
This section applies to a person selected for assessment under section 89 in relation to the anticipated placement needs of a particular child (the relevant child ).
The chief executive must decide the person’s suitability to be an adoptive parent of the relevant child.
If the chief executive considers it appropriate, the chief executive may also decide—
the person’s suitability to be an adoptive parent of a child with particular characteristics other than those of the relevant child; or
the person’s suitability to be an adoptive parent generally.
In deciding whether it would be appropriate to make a decision mentioned in subsection (3) , the chief executive must consider—
the person’s current expression of interest, if any; and
the likely future need for adoptive parents.
(sec.106-ssec.1) This section applies to a person selected for assessment under section 89 in relation to the anticipated placement needs of a particular child (the relevant child ).
(sec.106-ssec.2) The chief executive must decide the person’s suitability to be an adoptive parent of the relevant child.
(sec.106-ssec.3) If the chief executive considers it appropriate, the chief executive may also decide— the person’s suitability to be an adoptive parent of a child with particular characteristics other than those of the relevant child; or the person’s suitability to be an adoptive parent generally.
(sec.106-ssec.4) In deciding whether it would be appropriate to make a decision mentioned in subsection (3) , the chief executive must consider— the person’s current expression of interest, if any; and the likely future need for adoptive parents.
- (a) the person’s suitability to be an adoptive parent of a child with particular characteristics other than those of the relevant child; or
- (b) the person’s suitability to be an adoptive parent generally.
