### sec.56 Grant of aid
Subject to and in accordance with the regulations (if any) applicable to the grant in question, the chief executive may grant aid to any Aboriginal person or Torres Strait Islander person who applies to the chief executive therefor and, where necessary, may apply therein money appropriated by Parliament for the purpose or money held for the benefit of Aboriginal peoples or Torres Strait Islander peoples generally.
Subject as prescribed by subsection (1) , aid granted under that subsection may be of such a type (in money, in kind, or by way of services) and may be granted in such circumstances, on such terms and conditions and, where granted by way of secured loan, on such security as the chief executive thinks fit.
