### sec.76 One year limitation inapplicable if indictable offence dealt with summarily
The purpose of this section is to ensure that a child may elect to have an indictable offence dealt with before a Childrens Court magistrate despite delay in prosecution.
A Childrens Court magistrate may exercise jurisdiction under this part in relation to an indictable offence even though more than 1 year has passed since the offence was committed.
