### sec.301B Definitions for part
In this part—
adversely affected , for a detention centre, see section 301F (1) and (2) .
declared emergency means—
a declared public health emergency under the Public Health Act 2005 ; or
a disaster situation declared under the Disaster Management Act 2003 ; or
an emergency situation or terrorist emergency declared to exist under the Public Safety Preservation Act 1986 ; or
a biosecurity emergency order or movement control order under the Biosecurity Act 2014 if the order prohibits or restricts individuals from entering or leaving a place.
disaster means any of the following, whether occurring naturally or caused by human acts or omissions—
a cyclone, earthquake, flood, storm, storm tide, tornado, tsunami, volcanic eruption or other natural happening;
an explosion or fire;
a chemical, fuel or oil spill, or gas leak;
an infestation, plague or epidemic;
a failure of, or disruption to, an essential service or infrastructure;
an attack against the State;
another event similar to an event mentioned in any of paragraphs (a) to (f) .
disaster-affected detention centre means a detention centre declared to be a disaster-affected detention centre under—
a temporary detention centre declaration; or
a regulation made under section 301N .
emergency period means the period for which a declared emergency is in effect.
temporary detention centre means a place declared to be a temporary detention centre under—
a temporary detention centre declaration; or
a regulation made under section 301N .
