### sec.297 Disclosure by chief executive of information for research purposes
The chief executive may disclose the information to a person undertaking research if—
the chief executive is satisfied the research is genuine; and
the person gives a written undertaking to preserve the confidentiality of the information and the anonymity of the person to whom the information relates.
The person must not contravene the undertaking.
Maximum penalty for subsection (2) (subject to part 7 )—100 penalty units or 2 years imprisonment.

(sec.297-ssec.1) The chief executive may disclose the information to a person undertaking research if— the chief executive is satisfied the research is genuine; and the person gives a written undertaking to preserve the confidentiality of the information and the anonymity of the person to whom the information relates.
