### sec.217 Multiple orders of detention and imprisonment against person as adult and child Sections 212 and 213 extend to a case where— at the time a court makes a detention order against a person as a child, the person is serving or has been sentenced to serve a term of imprisonment as an adult; or at the time a court makes an order sentencing a person to a term of imprisonment as an adult, the person is serving or has been sentenced to serve a period of detention as a child; as if a reference in the sections to a period of detention included a reference to the term of imprisonment mentioned in paragraph (a) or (b) . s 217 prev s 217 om 2000 No. 60 s 175 sch 3 pres s 217 amd 1996 No. 22 s 59 ; 1998 No. 39 s 39 ; 1999 No. 9 s 3 sch ; 2002 No. 39 s 82 - (a) at the time a court makes a detention order against a person as a child, the person is serving or has been sentenced to serve a term of imprisonment as an adult; or - (b) at the time a court makes an order sentencing a person to a term of imprisonment as an adult, the person is serving or has been sentenced to serve a period of detention as a child;
