### sec.211 Commencement of detention period
A period of detention under a detention order takes effect from the day the court makes the detention order.
Subsection (1) has effect subject to section 213 , section 218 and subsection (3) .
If a child is required to serve a period of detention or the unserved part of a period of detention as a result of an appeal against, or a review of, a sentence order, the period or unserved part takes effect from the start of the child’s custody on sentence for the offence in question after the appeal or review.
