### sec.198 Community service to be performed within limited period
A child against whom a community service order is made must perform the number of hours of community service specified in the order—
within—
for a community service order of less than 50 hours—the period of 1 year starting on the date of the order or, if the order states a lesser period, the lesser period; or
otherwise—the period of 1 year starting on the date of the order; or
within any extended period that a court may order under section 245 (1) (b) (ii) or 247 ; or
any extended period allowed by order of the proper officer of the court under section 252 .

- (a) within— (i) for a community service order of less than 50 hours—the period of 1 year starting on the date of the order or, if the order states a lesser period, the lesser period; or (ii) otherwise—the period of 1 year starting on the date of the order; or
- (i) for a community service order of less than 50 hours—the period of 1 year starting on the date of the order or, if the order states a lesser period, the lesser period; or
- (ii) otherwise—the period of 1 year starting on the date of the order; or
- (b) within any extended period that a court may order under section 245 (1) (b) (ii) or 247 ; or
- (c) any extended period allowed by order of the proper officer of the court under section 252 .
- (i) for a community service order of less than 50 hours—the period of 1 year starting on the date of the order or, if the order states a lesser period, the lesser period; or
- (ii) otherwise—the period of 1 year starting on the date of the order; or
