### sec.379 Dam owner must seek authorisation for alternative procedure
The owner of the dam must, as soon as practicable, give the chief executive the following information (the authorisation request information )—
the grounds for considering the matters mentioned in section 378 ;
the facts and circumstances that are the basis for the grounds;
information to identify the existing procedure;
details of the alternative procedure;
the time by which the owner of the dam would need the chief executive to make a decision under section 380 for the owner to be able to respond effectively to the flood event;
other information to enable the chief executive to make a decision under section 380 .
The owner of the dam may give the chief executive the authorisation request information orally.
However, the owner of the dam must record the authorisation request information in writing as soon as practicable after giving the chief executive the information orally.
Subsection (1) applies subject to section 381 .

(sec.379-ssec.2) The owner of the dam may give the chief executive the authorisation request information orally.
(sec.379-ssec.3) However, the owner of the dam must record the authorisation request information in writing as soon as practicable after giving the chief executive the information orally.
(sec.379-ssec.4) Subsection (1) applies subject to section 381 .
- (a) the grounds for considering the matters mentioned in section 378 ;
- (b) the facts and circumstances that are the basis for the grounds;
- (c) information to identify the existing procedure;
- (d) details of the alternative procedure;
- (e) the time by which the owner of the dam would need the chief executive to make a decision under section 380 for the owner to be able to respond effectively to the flood event;
- (f) other information to enable the chief executive to make a decision under section 380 .
