### sec.166 When service provider not required to supply water in service area
This section applies if—
the owner of premises in the service area wants the service provider to supply water to the premises; and
the service provider can not supply water from its infrastructure to the premises at a satisfactory pressure because of physical constraints.
The service provider must supply water to the premises if the owner installs enough water storage tanks and pumps to ensure that water can be supplied at a satisfactory pressure and flow.
The service provider may impose conditions on the installation of the water storage tanks and pumps, including, for example, a condition requiring that a pump installed on the supply side of a water storage tank does not cause negative pressures in the service provider’s water main.
