### sec.755 General powers after entering places
This section applies to an authorised officer who enters a place under division 2 .
However, if an authorised officer enters a place to get the occupier’s consent to enter the place, this section applies to the authorised officer only if the consent is given or the entry is otherwise authorised.
For monitoring or enforcing compliance with this Act, the authorised officer may exercise 1 or more of the following powers—
search any part of the place;
inspect, measure, test, photograph or film any part of the place or anything at the place;
take a thing, or a sample of or from a thing, at the place for analysis or testing;
copy a document at the place;
regulate or prevent the taking of water or other resources under this Act so as to comply with the quantity authorised to be taken under this Act;
take all steps and do all acts and things necessary for advancing the purposes of this Act;
take into or onto the place any person, equipment and materials the authorised officer reasonably requires for the exercise of a power under this division;
require the occupier of the place, or a person at the place, to give the authorised officer reasonable help to exercise the authorised officer’s powers under paragraphs (a) to (g) ;
require the occupier of the place, or a person at the place, to give the authorised officer information to help the authorised officer ascertain whether the Act is being complied with.
When making a requirement mentioned in subsection (3) (h) or (i) , the authorised officer must warn the person it is an offence to fail to comply with the requirement, unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
(sec.755-ssec.1) This section applies to an authorised officer who enters a place under division 2 .
(sec.755-ssec.2) However, if an authorised officer enters a place to get the occupier’s consent to enter the place, this section applies to the authorised officer only if the consent is given or the entry is otherwise authorised.
(sec.755-ssec.3) For monitoring or enforcing compliance with this Act, the authorised officer may exercise 1 or more of the following powers— search any part of the place; inspect, measure, test, photograph or film any part of the place or anything at the place; take a thing, or a sample of or from a thing, at the place for analysis or testing; copy a document at the place; regulate or prevent the taking of water or other resources under this Act so as to comply with the quantity authorised to be taken under this Act; take all steps and do all acts and things necessary for advancing the purposes of this Act; take into or onto the place any person, equipment and materials the authorised officer reasonably requires for the exercise of a power under this division; require the occupier of the place, or a person at the place, to give the authorised officer reasonable help to exercise the authorised officer’s powers under paragraphs (a) to (g) ; require the occupier of the place, or a person at the place, to give the authorised officer information to help the authorised officer ascertain whether the Act is being complied with.
(sec.755-ssec.4) When making a requirement mentioned in subsection (3) (h) or (i) , the authorised officer must warn the person it is an offence to fail to comply with the requirement, unless the person has a reasonable excuse.

- (c) take a thing, or a sample of or from a thing, at the place for analysis or testing;
- (d) copy a document at the place;
- (e) regulate or prevent the taking of water or other resources under this Act so as to comply with the quantity authorised to be taken under this Act;
- (f) take all steps and do all acts and things necessary for advancing the purposes of this Act;
- (g) take into or onto the place any person, equipment and materials the authorised officer reasonably requires for the exercise of a power under this division;
- (h) require the occupier of the place, or a person at the place, to give the authorised officer reasonable help to exercise the authorised officer’s powers under paragraphs (a) to (g) ;
- (i) require the occupier of the place, or a person at the place, to give the authorised officer information to help the authorised officer ascertain whether the Act is being complied with.
