### sec.603 Criminal history report
To decide if a person is disqualified from being appointed or continuing as a director for a water authority, the Minister may ask the commissioner of the police service for—
a written report about the criminal history of the person; and
a brief description of the circumstances of a conviction mentioned in the criminal history.
However, the Minister may make the request only if the person has given the Minister written consent for the request.
The commissioner of the police service must comply with the request.
However, the duty to comply applies only to information in the possession of the commissioner of the police service or to which the commissioner of the police service has access.
The Minister must ensure the report is destroyed as soon as practicable after it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was requested.
