### sec.548 Establishing water authorities
A regulation may establish a water authority to carry out water activities—
generally in the State; or
for a particular area (the authority area ) identified in the regulation.
The authority area may comprise 2 or more non-contiguous areas.
The regulation must name the authority and, if the authority is established for an authority area, identify the authority area.
After the commencement of this subsection, a regulation under subsection (1) may amend an establishment regulation but can not establish a new water authority.

(sec.548-ssec.1) A regulation may establish a water authority to carry out water activities— generally in the State; or for a particular area (the authority area ) identified in the regulation.
(sec.548-ssec.2) The authority area may comprise 2 or more non-contiguous areas.
(sec.548-ssec.3) The regulation must name the authority and, if the authority is established for an authority area, identify the authority area.
