### sec.221 Deciding application
If the chief executive is satisfied the application should be granted, or granted in part, the chief executive must issue a riverine protection permit, with or without conditions.
If the chief executive is not satisfied the application should be granted, the chief executive must refuse the application.
Within 30 business days after deciding the application, the chief executive must give the applicant an information notice about the decision.
If the chief executive grants all or part of the application, with or without conditions, the chief executive must, within 30 business days after granting the application, give the applicant a riverine protection permit in the approved form.
The riverine protection permit—
has effect from the day the applicant is given the permit; and
must state how long it is to stay in force.
