### sec.145 Meaning of volumetric limit for div 4
For this division, the volumetric limit for a water allocation is the maximum volume of water, in megalitres, that may be taken under the allocation during a water year.
However, if a condition on a water allocation or a water management protocol contains a water sharing rule about volumetric limits that applies to the water allocation, the volumetric limit stated on the water allocation is used to calculate, under the rule, the maximum volume that may be taken under the allocation during a particular period or in particular circumstances.
A water allocation may include more than one volumetric limit if there is more than one condition that applies to the limit.
