### sec.1083 Continuing former water areas and former water boards—general This section does not apply to the Gladstone Area Water Board and its operational area established under the repealed GAWB Act. A former water area in existence immediately before the commencement of this section continues in existence, subject to this Act, and is taken to be an authority area established under this Act with the same name as the former water area. A former water board in existence immediately before the commencement continues in existence, subject to this Act, and is taken to be a water authority established under this Act— with the same name as the former water board; and carry out water activities. The former water board is taken to be— for the Mount Isa Water Board—a category 1 water authority; or for another former water board to which this section applies—a category 2 water authority. If the former water board was constituted under the repealed Act for a former water area in existence immediately before the commencement, the former water area is taken to be the water authority’s authority area. (sec.1083-ssec.1) This section does not apply to the Gladstone Area Water Board and its operational area established under the repealed GAWB Act. (sec.1083-ssec.2) A former water area in existence immediately before the commencement of this section continues in existence, subject to this Act, and is taken to be an authority area established under this Act with the same name as the former water area.
