### sec.51 Power to require information
This section applies if an authorised officer reasonably believes—
a vegetation clearing offence has been committed; and
a person may be able to give information about the offence.
The authorised officer may, by notice given to the person, require the person to give information about the offence to the authorised officer at a stated reasonable place and at a stated reasonable time.
The person must comply with a requirement under subsection (2) , unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
Maximum penalty—200 penalty units.
It is a reasonable excuse for an individual not to comply if doing so might tend to incriminate the individual or expose the individual to a penalty.
If a person is convicted of an offence against subsection (3) , the court may, as well as imposing a penalty for the offence, order the person to comply with the requirement.
