### sec.20AC What is the essential habitat map
The essential habitat map is a map certified by the chief executive as the essential habitat map for the State and showing, for the State, areas the chief executive reasonably believes are areas of essential habitat for protected wildlife.
Essential habitat , for protected wildlife, is a category A area, a category B area or category C area shown on the regulated vegetation management map—
that has at least 3 essential habitat factors for the protected wildlife that must include any essential habitat factors that are stated as mandatory for the protected wildlife in the essential habitat database; or
in which the protected wildlife, at any stage of its life cycle, is located.
Essential habitat database is a database, listing essential habitat factors for protected wildlife, certified by the chief executive as an essential habitat database.
An essential habitat factor , for protected wildlife, is a component of the wildlife’s habitat, including, for example, a landform, pollinator, regional ecosystem, soil and water, that is necessary or desirable for the wildlife at any stage of its lifecycle.

(sec.20AC-ssec.4) An essential habitat factor , for protected wildlife, is a component of the wildlife’s habitat, including, for example, a landform, pollinator, regional ecosystem, soil and water, that is necessary or desirable for the wildlife at any stage of its lifecycle.
- (a) that has at least 3 essential habitat factors for the protected wildlife that must include any essential habitat factors that are stated as mandatory for the protected wildlife in the essential habitat database; or
- (b) in which the protected wildlife, at any stage of its life cycle, is located.
