### sec.25 Discretion where appointed member convicted of indictable offence If the Minister considers it would be reasonable, having regard to the circumstances of the indictable offence mentioned in section 23 (1) (b) or 24 (1) (i) of which a person has been convicted, the Minister may— if the person was an appointed member when convicted—give notice to the chancellor and the person that the person is restored as an appointed member, and may be subsequently reappointed, despite the conviction; or otherwise—give written approval for the person to become an appointed member despite the conviction. On the day the chancellor receives a notice under subsection (1) (a) — the person is restored as an appointed member; and if another person has been appointed to fill the vacancy—the other person’s appointment ends.
