### sec.589 Application to court
The jurisdiction of the court to issue a writ of habeas corpus or to order the release of a person from restraint is exercisable by the court constituted by a single judge.
However, the court may refer a relevant proceeding to the Court of Appeal.
If an application is referred to the Court of Appeal, references in this part to the ‘court’ are interpreted as references to the Court of Appeal.
