### sec.328 Mediator may seek independent advice
The mediator may seek legal or other advice about the dispute from independent third parties.
However, if the advice involves extra cost, the mediator must first obtain—
the parties’ agreement to pay the extra cost; or
the court’s leave.
If the court gives leave, the court must also—
order the parties to pay the extra cost; and
state to whom and by when the payment must be made.
The mediator must disclose the substance of the advice to the parties.
(sec.328-ssec.1) The mediator may seek legal or other advice about the dispute from independent third parties.
(sec.328-ssec.2) However, if the advice involves extra cost, the mediator must first obtain— the parties’ agreement to pay the extra cost; or the court’s leave.
