### sec.289 Judgment by default—costs only
This rule applies if, under this division, the plaintiff is entitled to judgment against a defendant in default and the defendant satisfies the plaintiff’s claim for relief.
The plaintiff may file a request for a judgment against the defendant for costs alone.
If the plaintiff files a request for judgment under subrule (2) , the court, as constituted by a registrar, may give judgment.
