### sec.219 Definitions for part
In this part—
amending Act means the Transport and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024 .
former , in relation to a provision, means as in force immediately before the commencement.
person in the chain of responsibility means a person in the chain of responsibility for a taxi service or booked hire service under former section 84(1).
relevant safety provision means a provision of relevant transport legislation relating to the safety of persons or property, including the safety of—
the drivers of, and passengers in, motor vehicles; and
persons or property in or in the vicinity of, or likely to be in or in the vicinity of, roads and public places, including other road users; and
vehicles and anything in them.
relevant transport legislation means the following legislation—
this Act;
the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 ;
the Heavy Vehicle National Law (Queensland);
the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 .
transitional period means the period—
starting on the commencement; and
ending 6 months after the commencement.

- (c) vehicles and anything in them.

- (c) the Heavy Vehicle National Law (Queensland);
- (d) the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 .
- (a) starting on the commencement; and
- (b) ending 6 months after the commencement.
