### sec.81 Proof of authority
A harbour master must display the harbour master’s identity card for inspection by a person if the harbour master, in person, gives a direction to the person or exercises another power in relation to the person.
If, for any reason, it is not practicable to comply with subsection (1) , the harbour master must produce the identity card for inspection by the person at the first reasonable opportunity.
If a harbour master gives a written direction to a person, the written direction must be on letterhead approved by the chief executive.
If a harbour master gives a direction to a person by radio, megaphone or another form of distance communication, the harbour master must identify himself or herself as a harbour master.
