### sec.57 Contravention of registration obligations
The owner or master of a ship must not operate the ship if the ship is required to be registered, but is not registered.
Maximum penalty—200 penalty units.
If a ship is registered as a recreational ship, the ship’s owner or master must not operate the ship other than as a recreational ship or as otherwise provided for under a regulation.

If a ship is registered as an other Queensland regulated ship, the ship’s owner or master must not operate the ship for private recreation other than as provided for under a regulation.

If a ship is registered on conditions, the owner or master must not operate it in contravention of the conditions.
