### sec.213 Regulations about dangerous substances
A regulation may make provision about goods mentioned in the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code issued by the International Maritime Organisation, including, for example—
the marking and carriage of the goods; and
the loading of goods onto, or discharge of goods from, a ship in a pilotage area.
The regulation may also make provision for the powers of harbour masters for the ships.
A person must not contravene a regulation made under subsection (1) that is declared to be a regulation to which this subsection applies, unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
Maximum penalty—500 penalty units.
A regulation about a dangerous substance that is an explosive within the meaning of the Explosives Act 1999 is complementary to that Act.
