### sec.153 Functions of shipping inspectors
The functions of shipping inspectors are as follows—
to monitor ships and their operations to ensure part 4 and other provisions of this Act are complied with;
to monitor the holders of approvals and their business operations to ensure that part 5 is complied with;
to help harbour masters, including exercising any delegated powers under part 7 ;
to investigate marine incidents involving Queensland regulated ships and report the results to the general manager under part 11 .

- (a) to monitor ships and their operations to ensure part 4 and other provisions of this Act are complied with;
