### sec.102 Liability of owner or master of ship under pilotage
The pilot who has the conduct of a ship is subject to the master’s authority.
The master of a ship is not relieved from responsibility for the ship’s operation merely because the ship is under pilotage.
The owner and master of a ship being navigated by a pilot because the pilotage is compulsory under this Act or another Act is liable for loss or damage caused by the ship, or by a fault of the navigation of the ship, as if the pilotage were not compulsory.
(sec.102-ssec.1) The pilot who has the conduct of a ship is subject to the master’s authority.
(sec.102-ssec.2) The master of a ship is not relieved from responsibility for the ship’s operation merely because the ship is under pilotage.
