### sec.72 Appointment of authorised officers
The general manager may appoint any of the following persons as authorised officers—
officers of the public service;
employees of a port authority;
employees of MSQ;
employees of the Gold Coast Waterways Authority;
other persons prescribed under the regulations.
A person may be appointed as an authorised officer only if the general manager considers, on reasonable grounds, that the person has the necessary expertise or experience to be an authorised officer.

(sec.72-ssec.1) The general manager may appoint any of the following persons as authorised officers— officers of the public service; employees of a port authority; employees of MSQ; employees of the Gold Coast Waterways Authority; other persons prescribed under the regulations.
