### sec.55A Shipboard waste management plan
This section applies to a ship—
at least 35m in length overall; or
designed to sleep at least 15 persons.
If the ship does not have on board a shipboard waste management plan, the ship’s owner and master each commit an offence.
Maximum penalty—850 penalty units.
If a corporation commits an offence against this provision, an executive officer of the corporation may be taken, under section 121 , to have also committed the offence.
If the ship is not fitted with any equipment that may be required to implement the plan, the ship’s owner and master each commit an offence.
Maximum penalty—850 penalty units.
A regulation may prescribe minimum requirements for a shipboard waste management plan.
