### sec.47 Discharge of untreated sewage into nil discharge waters for untreated sewage prohibited If untreated sewage is discharged from a ship into nil discharge waters for untreated sewage, each culpable person for the discharge commits an offence. Maximum penalty—850 penalty units. The nil discharge waters for untreated sewage are the coastal waters prescribed under a regulation for this section. This section applies despite the Criminal Code , sections 23 and 24 . See the note to section 26 (2) for information about sections 23 and 24 of the Code .
