### sec.54 Limited access roads
The chief executive, by gazette notice complying with sections 56 and 57 , may declare part or all of a State-controlled road to be a limited access road (a declaration ).
For each limited access road proposed to be declared, the chief executive must make a policy about the application of section 62 to access between the limited access road and adjacent land.
For a State-controlled road that is a limited access road under section 516 (1) , the chief executive may—
develop a policy about the application of section 62 to access between the road and adjacent land; and
publish a gazette notice complying with section 57 about the policy.
If a gazette notice mentioned in subsection (1) or (3) is published for a limited access road, the chief executive—
must ensure there is always a policy for the road while it is a limited access road; and
by gazette notice complying with section 57 , may replace the policy as it exists at any time for the road; and
without a gazette notice, may amend the policy under section 58 ; and
must apply the policy as made, amended or replaced.
