### sec.475A Authorised persons
The following persons are authorised persons—
a police officer;
See the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 , section 14 for provisions about the declaration of police officers as public officials.
under an arrangement between the chief executive or the Gold Coast Waterways Authority and the chief executive of the department in which the Fisheries Act 1994 is administered—an inspector under that Act.
The chief executive may appoint an officer of the department, or any other person, as an authorised person.
The Gold Coast Waterways Authority may appoint an employee of the authority as an authorised person.
However, the chief executive may appoint a person under subsection (2) , and the Gold Coast Waterways Authority may appoint a person under subsection (3) , only if the chief executive or the authority is reasonably satisfied the person is qualified for appointment because the person has the necessary expertise or experience.
Sections 475B (1) (a) and (b) , 475C and 475D do not apply to an authorised person who is a police officer.
