### sec.40 Funds for works on, or operation of, local government roads etc. The chief executive may enter into an agreement with a local government under which the chief executive supplies funds to the local government for road works on a local government road, for other works that contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the road network or for the operation of a local government road. The agreement— must provide for the works or operation to be carried out in accordance with an agreement between the chief executive and the local government that is designed to ensure value for money in the application of the funds; and may be subject to other conditions. (sec.40-ssec.1) The chief executive may enter into an agreement with a local government under which the chief executive supplies funds to the local government for road works on a local government road, for other works that contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the road network or for the operation of a local government road.
