### sec.279 Port authority may impose a charge
A port authority may impose a charge for the use of its port area.
A charge may, for example, be imposed by reference to—
a ship using its port; or
goods or passengers loaded, unloaded or transhipped to or from a ship using port facilities in its port.
This section does not limit the powers a port authority has apart from this section.

(sec.279-ssec.1) A port authority may impose a charge for the use of its port area.
