### sec.270 Abolition of port authority
A regulation may abolish a port authority established under section 268 and transfer its functions to another port authority, the State or a local government (the transferee ).
A regulation may also transfer to the transferee, or to a port authority, the State or a local government, assets and liabilities of the abolished port authority.
A legal proceeding by or against the abolished port authority about the port, or transferred assets and liabilities, that is unfinished when the relevant regulation commences may be continued and finished by or against—
the transferee; or
if the assets or liabilities concerned are transferred to a person mentioned in subsection (2) who is not the transferee—the person.

(sec.270-ssec.1) A regulation may abolish a port authority established under section 268 and transfer its functions to another port authority, the State or a local government (the transferee ).
(sec.270-ssec.2) A regulation may also transfer to the transferee, or to a port authority, the State or a local government, assets and liabilities of the abolished port authority.
(sec.270-ssec.3) A legal proceeding by or against the abolished port authority about the port, or transferred assets and liabilities, that is unfinished when the relevant regulation commences may be continued and finished by or against— the transferee; or if the assets or liabilities concerned are transferred to a person mentioned in subsection (2) who is not the transferee—the person.
- (a) the transferee; or
- (b) if the assets or liabilities concerned are transferred to a person mentioned in subsection (2) who is not the transferee—the person.
