### sec.21 Casual vacancy in member’s office If a vacancy occurs in the office of a member (the vacating member ) during the currency of the member’s term of appointment, another person (the new member ) must be appointed by the Minister to fill the vacancy. The new member’s appointment continues for the remainder of the vacating member’s term of appointment. If the vacating member had particular qualifications or experience, or held a particular type of position, required under section 12 (2) , the new member must have the same qualifications or experience or hold a position of the same type. s 21 amd 2019 No. 17 s 73 (sec.21-ssec.1) If a vacancy occurs in the office of a member (the vacating member ) during the currency of the member’s term of appointment, another person (the new member ) must be appointed by the Minister to fill the vacancy.
