### sec.144 General powers after entering places
This section applies to an investigator who enters a place under section 139 .
However, if an investigator enters a place to get the occupier’s consent to enter premises, this section applies to the investigator only if the consent is given or the entry is otherwise authorised.
For monitoring and enforcing compliance with this Act, the investigator may do all or any of the following—
search any part of the place;
inspect, measure, test, photograph or film any part of the place or anything at the place;
take an extract from, or copy, a document at the place;
if the investigator is a surveyor—carry out a survey;
if the investigator is a surveyor—place survey marks on land;
take into or onto the place any person, equipment and materials the investigator reasonably requires for exercising a power under this division;
require the occupier of the place, or a person at the place, to give the investigator reasonable help to exercise the investigator’s powers under paragraphs (a) to (f) ;
require the occupier of the place, or a person at the place, to give the investigator information to help the investigator ascertain whether this Act is being complied with.
When making a requirement mentioned in subsection (3) (g) or (h) , the investigator must warn the person it is an offence to fail to comply with the requirement, unless the person has a reasonable excuse.

(sec.144-ssec.1) This section applies to an investigator who enters a place under section 139 .
(sec.144-ssec.2) However, if an investigator enters a place to get the occupier’s consent to enter premises, this section applies to the investigator only if the consent is given or the entry is otherwise authorised.
(sec.144-ssec.3) For monitoring and enforcing compliance with this Act, the investigator may do all or any of the following— search any part of the place; inspect, measure, test, photograph or film any part of the place or anything at the place; take an extract from, or copy, a document at the place; if the investigator is a surveyor—carry out a survey; if the investigator is a surveyor—place survey marks on land; take into or onto the place any person, equipment and materials the investigator reasonably requires for exercising a power under this division; require the occupier of the place, or a person at the place, to give the investigator reasonable help to exercise the investigator’s powers under paragraphs (a) to (f) ; require the occupier of the place, or a person at the place, to give the investigator information to help the investigator ascertain whether this Act is being complied with.

- (h) require the occupier of the place, or a person at the place, to give the investigator information to help the investigator ascertain whether this Act is being complied with.
