### sec.147 Rate of travel of stock
The person in charge of stock being driven on foot under a stock route travel permit must, unless the permit states otherwise, ensure the stock travel towards their destination at a rate not less than 10km a day.
Maximum penalty—50 penalty units.
The rate of travel of stock is calculated between inspections authorised by the local government for the area in which the stock are travelling.
Inspections must be at least 24 hours apart.
In calculating the rate of travel of stock the following periods are not included—
a period when the stock are prevented from travelling by rain, flood or other unavoidable cause;
a period when the stock are lawfully detained or depastured elsewhere.
