### sec.144 Cancellation—grounds and procedure
The issuing entity may cancel a stock route travel permit if satisfied—
the permit was issued because of a materially false or misleading representation or document, made either orally or in writing; or
the permit holder has not complied with a condition of the permit; or
the relevant land can no longer provide enough pasture or water for travelling stock.
If the issuing entity decides to cancel a stock route travel permit, the entity must—
give the permit holder a written notice stating the following—
that the permit is cancelled;
the grounds for the cancellation;
the facts and circumstances that are the basis for the grounds;
that the permit holder may ask the chief executive to review the decision;
how to ask for a review; and
for a permit to travel stock for more than 100km—refund to the holder the amount of the permit fee less the amount that would have been payable for the distance travelled by the stock before the permit was cancelled.
The cancellation has effect immediately the notice is given.
