### 44 Period for payment of fine

> > (1) Subject to [subsection (2)](#GS44@Gs2@EN) , a court that orders an offender to pay a fine must also order that the fine be paid within 28 days.
>
> > (2) In special and unusual circumstances, a court may order that the fine be paid within a period of less than 28 days.
