### sch.58-sec.23 Amount of assistance
The amount of assistance that may be given to an applicant under this part of the scheme is—
if the amount worked out under subsection (2) or (3) is 1,000 or less—$1,000; or
if the amount worked out under subsection (2) or (3) is between 1,000 and 4,999 (both inclusive)—$5,000; or
if the amount worked out under subsection (2) or (3) is between 5,000 and 10,000 (both inclusive)—$10,000; or
if the amount worked out under subsection (2) or (3) is more than 10,000—the amount worked out under the formula expressed in dollars.
For subsection (1) , if the applicant is eligible for assistance under section 24 (1) , the amount is the amount worked out, to 2 decimal places, using the following formula—

A means the amount.
R means the applicant’s relevant period catch.
S means the applicant’s substituted period catch.
For subsection (1) , if the applicant is eligible for assistance under section 24 (2) , the amount is the amount worked out, to 2 decimal places, using the following formula—

S means the applicant’s substituted period catch.
