### sch.47-sec.10 Nature and maximum amount of assistance
The nature of the assistance that may be given to an applicant under the scheme is a rebate to offset the cost of an eligible recovery activity.
A rebate under the scheme is not available to pay for the cost of direct damage caused by the eligible disaster for which the applicant receives, or is entitled to receive, an amount under an insurance policy.
The maximum amount of assistance under the scheme for an eligible disaster is—
$10,000; or
if another amount is stated in the assistance establishment notice—the stated amount.
